"Roy Hargrove, one of the leading jazz trumpeters and multiple Grammy award winner, is going to be one of the headliners of XXVII International Nisville Jazz Festival (August 12th to 15th 2010). His performance, along with his quintet (Justin Robinson - saxophone, Jonathan Batiste - piano, Ameen Saleem – double bass and Montez Coleman – drums) is officially confirmed".
The official music video for "Roses" by Georgia Anne Muldrow from "Umsindo" (2009).
The video was directed by Ogechi for Boom Art House and the song was written & produced by Georgia for SomeOthaShip Connect label.
I just read about new Fly Lo album coming in early 2010,titled "A Space Opera" for Warp records.
"Mary Anne Hobbes got a chance to listen to Flylo's new EP, coming out early next year on Warp, and was absolutely raving about it on last week's show - saying it was going to change the face of music forever.
Last time she got this stoked over something was Burial's Untrue, sounds like we've got big things coming from Flylo soon! For now, here's a snippet Adult Swim has been playing that's going to be on the new album, no name for the time being but Flylo has confirmed that it is from A Space Opera".
I will repeat this once again ya'all...Im in <3 with these guys music!I just can't explain what I feel when I hear that dope ish "She was fly"!And new version with genius Eric "Erro" Roberson is so...MAGIC!!!
I wrote earlier about 'em.They have been friends since high school, sharing the same passion over music.
Crate has studied classical piano and started dj-ing at a young age. Mar was raised in a musical family too and started drumming at the age of 5.
Today they are both part of the Amsterdam hip-hop / beatmaker scene.
And finally, someone recognized their extra ordinary talent and they just have signed for MPM.
They gonna release "Conversations With Her" EP in early 2010/mid-January (actually Jan 15th) on Melting Pot Music. Its 5 tracks EP,and there's a version of "She was fly" with Eric "Erro" Roberson.
Okay...I hope this time fo real,'cause "New AmErykah pt.2,Return of the Ankh" was set to be release in July of 2008,just a few months after "New AmErykah pt.1,4th World War"...but it wasn't,due Erykah's pregnancy on first place.
The peeps from Showing Outwere able to attend a listening session and leave w/detailed notes about the album.Go here to to find out who's producing on the album and breakdowns of the tracks.So...MIND BLOWING...and I expect the album will be like that!!!
But,I heard that track "Jump in the air and stay there" with Lil' Wayne and I have mixed feelings about that...its damn groovy track, but I just can't swallow his voice and that! But its not sure yet that this track will be on the new album.
"ErykahBadu had a listening in NY for her next CD last night and Jump in the Air and Stay There was secretly recorded there. This joint will feature 10 MC’s. That’s right, 10. Badu’s keepin’ the full list of rappers secret for now but the first MC revealed is Lil Wayne".
Download the track here.
I wrote about this epic Sade Adu's comeback with upcoming album titled "Soldier of Love" set up to release on February 8th in 2010!

Each Tuesday until this September, that is.
And it goes on like this untill summer 2007. when it was time for young forces to come in and carry the tourch further. Goju has taken over the lead for Migrations Radio Show and he has been doing a great job since, with great musical selection and constant promotion over internet.

So...after about ten days of break due some lack of time (for anything not only for music, blogging and stuff),Im back and Im in this thing again...and asking myself from where to start!?!?
Okay, first Im going to mention some things which I have already posted over here.
It's music with a dubsOul thing...
Our homeboy Side1 posted his new fresh mix on Soundcloud, about ten days ago...and its a soulful killa!

"Born in Belgrade. Got involved in music during mid 90’s via hiphop as a starting point and first love. Through hiphop, a whole new horizon opened and jazz/soul/funk/reggae/disco were destinations to visit. After going back to the roots, logically he found chicago/soulful/deep/acid house, breakbeat, brokenbeat, nujazz and drum’n’bass as very familiar sounds.Especially the last one. Going through whole journey was much easier with radio station and from 2000. started, during that period only hiphop radio show in Belgrade, Soundbombing radio show which after one year moved to legendary underground pirate radio station SKC FM and continued as a duo with Timbe of Bad Copy. In that time, he started getting into production and mixing/Djing thing so after a while, got residenture in one of the finest Belgrade lounge cocktail bars, followed by another venture with radio Venus FM where he got his 2 hour slot called “Freestyle Sessions” (with guests like DJ Marky, MC Stamina, Drumagick, Patife, TM Juke, Seiji, etc.) presenting wide spectre of music genres covering almost everything mentioned above. Also, he took part in team that created radio programme. From 2004. he played in all Belgrade’s bigger clubs, @ EXIT Festival 2007. and 2008., REFRACT04, bigger cities in Serbia, Montenegro and Macedonia and played alongside DJ Marky & MC Stamina, DJ Patife, LTJ Bukem & MC Conrad, Bryan Gee, Danny Byrd, Big Bud, Adam F, Makoto & Deeizm, Kabuki & Jenna G, Utah Jazz, Craggz & Parallel Forces, A.I., Benny Page, Bungle, EZ Rollers & MC Messy, Submorphics, Killa Kela & Spitkingdom Crew, 4Hero, DJ Vadim, TM Juke, Buschemi, etc. Also, his tunes got excellent feedback and are regularely played by names like LTJ Bukem, Big Bud, Fabio, Makoto, Nookie, Crissy Criss, Drumagick, PFM, Submorphics, Jay Rome and supported on BBC Radio1, 1Xtra, Bassdrive"…

There will be an EP later this year, and then after that a full album, titled 'King's ballad",some time in early next year, actually it's about February 9th 2010.
Every time when she drops some new s*** from herself, no matter its production, beatz or her own material, she shows us that she's each time better and better...
You can listen "King's ballad" right here!
"She is on a mission to let the world know that female emcees still exist and are alive and well. If you feel like hip hop has been lacking a woman's touch then this tape will bring all hope back in a special way".
This is Dominique Larue's "End of Regulation" mixtape album and it features production of Boonie Mayfield,Rashid Hadee,Severe etc.
But after this,Dominique Larue brings us "From Ohio With Love", 15 tracks of raw and uncut bangers. The title itself comes from Dominique coming to terms with where she’s from with showcasing to the world that Ohio is more than the Buckeye State. The albums features production from !llmind, Kev Brown and J.Rawls, along with up and coming producers D/Will from the Show Me State and Severe from Sweden including Columbus’ own Drielb.
Her self titled debut from the spring of 1997, alongside ErykahBadu's, "Baduizm" helped usher in what would later be dubbed the "Neo- Soul" movement. No longer signed to a label, her second album, Nomadic was previously only available at shows or on her website, but now it is re-issued and available. She takes inspiration from many genres of music including samba,reggae,rock,jazz,hip-hop but all very soulfully composed.
She sounds so strong, unique and she got some kind of personality...in my opinion!
This documentary is an experiment in sound recycling. It features four amazing,LA-based beatmakers:Daedelus,J Rocc,Ras G and Nobody in a secret mission to create new musical magic from the dusty remains of thrift store vinyl.
Secondhand Sureshots is a is a filmed experiment in creative sound recycling.Dublab directors Bryan “Morpho” Younce & Mark “frosty” McNeill sent beatmakers Daedelus, Nobody, J.Rocc and Ras G on safari into L.A.
thrift stores with orders to make new music out of five finds while the
cameras filmed the whole process. The result is a mini-documentary
about putting new life into old vinyl. Over 2 hours of footage, music
& bonus material.

She is the other part of Thompson family,Questlove's sista...
"With years in the industry, she has a lot of respect from her peers and is a voice to be reckoned with. As a songwriter and backup singer Donn T. is in no way a newbie in this game, it is time however, for her to be seen & heard in the forefront where she belongs".
After some dope news from Stones Throw records about new Madvillain, here's another one!
"Madlib is launching the Madlib Medicine Show, a once-a-month, twelve-CD, six-LP series. The Madlib Medicine Show will be a combination of Madlib's new hip-hop productions, remixes, beat tapes, and jazz, as well as mixtapes of funk, soul, Brazilian, psych, jazz and other undefined forms of music from the Beat Konducta's 4-ton* stack of vinyl". Madlib Medicine Show No. 1 is Before The Verdict featuring Guilty Simpson, a 17-track album mixing remixes and new material, something of a prelude to Madlib & Guilty Simpson's forthcoming OJ Simpson album.
Here is a track from it, 'The paper'.
Madlib Medicine Show No. 2, Flight to Brazil, is a mixtape of Brazilian jazz, funk, prog-rock, folk and psychedelia. Later releases will include Beat Konducta in Africa.

Here's album preview and '40 Winx' track for free download.
"Love Czars II is a Sa-Ra track featuring Jay Electronica & Ta'Raach.
"'Love Czars II' is not a remix of the Nuclear Evolution LP track -- it's an all new number that's a collaboration with producer & MC Jay Electronica and rhymer Ta'Raach -- using the original track as a springboard into hazier, more thumping hip hop cut that doesn't bury the cosmic Sa-Ra vibes as much as it fuses it with a grittier, vibe. Includes the instrumental version, plus the leaner, cosmic hip hop/synth funk instrumental 'Powder Bump'".
"Raekwon, Ghostface and Method Man have officially announced the release date of their latest collaborative set to drop December 22nd. Entitled, “The Wu-Massacre” the LP will primarily highlight arguably three of the Wu’s finest members. This promotional short film serves as part one of three promotional clips directed by Rik Cordero and inspired by the classic David Fincher flick 'Seven'".

Portformat /Tokyo Dawn Records "Portformat aka Ibrahima M’Bodji is a highly acclaimed Senegalese experimental hip-hop producer currently living in Germany. Although he’s not religious at all, he grew up under a strict Muslim education. Being quickly bored of a narrow-minded environment, he decided to move away and started a whole new life – with absolutely nothing in his pockets, except his genius music skills. Deeply dedicated to music since his first days, Portformat is completely devoted to electronic music production. He’s currently catching the attention of a constantly growing number of listeners and DJs around the world, chances are good you’ll be the next one getting addicted to his hypnotic grooves. Portformat now works on his first album, the “Repeat Factor” LP, which will come out on Tokyo Dawn Records this year. There’s much to expect from this artist, watch out"!!!

This 'Breath' track is from earlier this year, and he released it on 4Lux records/white release. If ya didn't pay attention on this guy yet,do it know...U can check his album from 2008 'Kilowatt' while we are waiting for his upcoming album for 4Lux crew again, titled 'The Electrik'.Also,we have a chance to hear ODS on Hud Mo's new album too.
Dizz1 is an Australian turntablist and producer, and I heard sum from him on Beat Dimensions vol.2,dope track 'Konotakosuke Yaro' and he was on Red Bull Academy in Barcelona,2008.Now we got this release 3rd Time Lucky/Nod Navigators and its already supported by Benji B and Mary Anne Hobbs and big-ups from the likes of Mark Pritchard aka Harmonic 313!
An unfortunate series of events caused Dizz1 to partially shatter his neck, causing him to become paralyzed from the neck down. A miracle doctor fixed his bone structure and spinal cord which, above all expectations, ended the paralyses. Long story short the lucky bugger got his feel back ! Luck was definitely on his side since a couple of years before he also managed to survive from a serious car crash.
He told me personally on myspace that the album with Om'Mas Keith from Sa-Ra Creative Partners (his raps on Dizz1’s beats) is on the way, early next year, and has worked in the studio with Mark Pritchard and Steve Spacek (live project in the works) and Stereotyp (Vienna).
First I heard this album and learn more about Joy Jones, and then this beautiful woman found me on fb.And I was excited,I must admit. So,I didn't do this earlier, but now Im gonna present her to ya all.You gotta meet her and hear her music.
“I have spent quite a bit of time thinking about what I want to say and the messages I want to put out. This is a labor of love and I hope that it translates and transforms into a tool for change. This journey to LP has largely been due to divine choreography, fabulous blessings and good folks. I am constantly amazed at the trajectory.” Joy Jones
"I got the call about a year ago now. A trip to Cuba in September '08 to check out the new generation of Havana-based artists. What a great opportunity! I'd never been before and had literally only just stepped out of the cinema having watched the Che movie. But would there be anything going on outside of Buena Vista, rumba and reggaeton? I was about to find out.
What a week we had in this iconic spot. I feel so blessed to have worked with these people - folk who take their art very seriously, but always with a smile at the end of the session. I hope you enjoy the fruits of our labour".
Gilles Peterson
Brownswood Recordings proudly announce a new project bringing the best of a new generation of Cuban musicians together to create an incredible album of modern Cuban urban music. And it comes out on October 26th,for Brownswood Recordings of course. Havana-Cultura.com
And the second is of course 4Hero with their new release 'Extensions'.Its out now...and although it's not a brand new album, but series of 'interpretations' of some 4Hero classics from their early days 'till their last album 'Play with the changes' from 2007.,it is still banger and big!
Its played by such quality musicians such as Sonar Kollectiv (Orchester),The Robert Mitchell Trio,Re:Jazz,Christian Prommer's Drumlessons and many more.
Now there are some new albums and releases that I somehow forgot to mention here...but it's not too late to do it now!
First of all it's a new album for fantastic funk crew Breakestra, titled "Dusk till dawn",which is dropped on September 28th for Strut and it's a label which falls with K7.
"Breakestra, releasing Dusk Till Dawn after a four-year hiatus from recording, have dedicated this record to the memory of DJ Dusk, who recently passed away as the victim of a drunk driving accident after playing a set in Los Angeles. Along with Jurassic 5’s Cut Chemist, his style of sampling and performance was a major influence on the direction Miles “Music Man” Tackett wanted to take Breakestra, considered by many the city’s finest funk band".
Dusk himself appears alongside Jurassic 5's Chali 2na on the funky rap joint Posed To Be,and there is a new female vocalist,Afrodyete and she killed it on Come On Over. However, this album must be listened!
Now it's about time to make some place right here fo my homeboy.
22years old guy, born and raised in Belgrade...raised on street culture and lifestyle,as well as skateboarding.
He is one of those who do not fit in the standards of growing up and maturing generations of the late 80s and
90s...outcast of generation who's like rotten oranges and later catched points.
Child of soul, funk, jazz, hip hop and ol'skool rap...a big fan of drum'n'bass and jungle sound. He is a vinyl collector, primarily because of love for 'em,and then 'cause of deejayin of course.
On the events in which he spins music, you can hear classic hip hop and rap songs, and a sophisticated
selection of Motown,Stax...sound,melodic funk, jazzy hip hop all the way to broken beat,nu jazz...
Beat junky...he starts to deal with music production in 2008.One of his first beat found his place on the
compilation of local underground musicians on UnderGrad Jam project for multimedial organization Izgradnja.
With his own style,he stands out from the majority of both domestic and also from region beatmakers.
Among some of the producers that he loves is certainly Madlib, with all the aliases and his music projects and
different styles...but also,he follows the original J Dilla recipe for delicious 'donuts'.
His beats so far have found their place on the new albums of the local hip hopers (Shkabo, Shef Sale), and there are indications of regional music colaborations. With local drum'n'bass deejay and producer Side1 (Side1 @myspace) he did a tune "Never Gonna Let You Go", which is found a place on the famous dnb label GoodLooking rec, whose owner is LTJ Bukem,in form of white label and suported from himself,Makoto,Fabio,Bailey etc. Here,on B92.fm you can hear his guest mix for a great radio show Balanso (Spacewalker and Jazzmate).
Do not sleep over this young producer...stay tuned with his beats!
Visit his myspace page to hear his beats and get informations about schedule of future gigs.
Posting about this release which is from august '09,I would like also to present and DevonWho to ya all.
DevonWho,Portland/LA brings us a fresh sound, which follows the line of abstract hip-hop in my opinion.
I must admit that I do not know much about him,but in his case music is enough. And 7" on Fat City records
out soon!

J-Rocc is a man that needs no introduction. An old-school digger, J-Rocc's sets often turn up unknown beats and breaks, scoured from the bins of whatever country he happens to be playing in.
Digging deep into the 200+ catalogue of tunes that is Jazzman and Funk 45, the Beat Junkie seamlessly flips up his own personal selection from the reissues that established the Jazzman labels as the leaders in the record world. Covering the entire spectrum from the start of Jazzman records in the '90s, and across those genres that just sound better on wax, J-Rocc works as the designer that's been given the best tools in the trade, and the finished product doesn't disappoint.
